Q: What is the average daily temperature? Do I have to worry about hurricane season?

For those eager to leave cold weather behind, you’re sure to love the Dominican. The average temperature here hovers between 24-28°C (60-80°F) all year round, meaning you’ll have plenty of heat to keep you warm. The north end of the island, where Casa Linda is located, is sheltered during hurricane season, and very rarely sees severe weather. This means that you’ll have more sunny days (approximately 200 a year) to relax and enjoy. 

Q: How long can I stay in the Dominican without a residency permit?

Note: this is one of the most important factors for snowbirds or those looking to ease into full-time residency.

At present, Dominican law states that visitors can stay up to 30 days per visit without a residency permit. This visa is extendable up to 90-days if needed. For those who wish to settle in permanently, residency is a relatively straight forward process involving paperwork from your home country disclosing your income, health, birth certificate, criminal record, etc.

Q: Will I Be Able To Find Adequate Medical Care?
