Citizenship-by-Investment Eligibility Requirements
As a real estate investor in the Dominican Republic, you will automatically qualify for citizenship when you buy approved real estate in the DR. In order to be eligible; you must invest in a property of no less than 200,000 USD and maintain ownership of the property for a minimum of three years. Once you’ve purchased your property, you and your family are eligible to apply to the Dominica Economic Citizenship Program. When you have successfully become a Dominica citizen, you can then pass your nationality on to future generations by descent.
Residency-by-Investment Eligibility Requirements
If you’re not looking to obtain dual citizenship and are only interested in living in the DR, you can apply for the Residency by Investment Program instead. There are two steps to becoming a resident of the DR:
- Apply for a temporary residency in the DR (valid for one year)
- Apply for a permanent residency in the DR (valid for two years)
To qualify for a residency by investment, you must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Good health
- Sufficient financial means
- Clean background check
