Our team at Casa Linda is excited to help you find the home of your dreams, located in our gated community! Whether you’re buying a vacation getaway or starting a new life as an expat, we’re here to help you find a home that suits your needs and preferences. We offer two types of builds: luxury villas and modern townhouses.

If you’re not sure which type of home would be right for you, here are a few things to consider to help simplify the selection process. Keep reading to learn how to start your journey to homeownership in the Dominican Republic!

What House Type Are You Looking For?

Many of our community members love the open-concept, one-floor layout of our villas, while others prefer the multi-level design of our townhouses. Choosing a villa vs a townhome largely comes down to your personal style preferences and how you want a home to look and feel.

Do you want to seamlessly combine your indoor and outdoor spaces? Many of our villa floor plans are designed to integrate interior and exterior entertainment spaces with living rooms that open out into outdoor lounge areas.

Do you prefer a space with more tight-nit corners and nooks? The layout of our townhouses features smaller rooms and more walls, yet they still maintain a spacious and airy feel!

Do You Plan to Customize Your Floor Plan?

One of the biggest benefits of our selection of villa floorplans (over 15 choices!) is the many customization options available. Some customizations to the floor plan can be made during the design and building process, while others can be added at a later time. Some common customization options include:

  • Larger pool
  • Roof top terrace
  • Indoor Jacuzzi
  • Additional square metres/feet of construction
  • Larger windows/doors
  • And more!

If you would like more options for customizing your floor plan, a villa is an excellent choice. While we do offer some customization options for our townhouses, the selection is more limited.

How Many Members in Your Household?

Another vital factor to consider is how many people your Casa Linda home will need to accommodate. All of our townhouses feature two very large and spacious bedrooms, which is an ideal set-up for single people, couples, and families with young children.

Our villa floor plans can be customized to feature up to 5 bedrooms, which is great for large families with older children or in-laws.

If you’re not sure how many people your home will need to accommodate, we offer the option to build a guest house on our villa lots, which you can add anytime before or after construction is finalized.

Do You Have Limited Mobility?

The Dominican Republic has become a very popular destination for older adults who want a change of pace during retirement. Are you planning to stay in the DR for the long haul? Is your family moving in with in-laws who will require certain accommodations as they age?

Choosing a villa allows you to request customizations for aging in place, such as mobility enhancers like wider hallways, shower ramps, and wheelchair ramps. Our villas’ default designs are also single-floor, so you won’t have to worry about navigating steep and narrow stairwells.

Are You Moving Permanently or Buying a Vacation Home?

Finally, are you planning to visit the DR routinely, or are you taking the leap and becoming an expat? If you’re coming to the DR for the long haul, we’re excited to welcome you! This will likely impact the way that you want your Casa Linda property to look, feel, and flow.

For expats moving permanently, ensure your new home has everything it needs to align with your comfort and lifestyle.

If you’re only planning to be here a few times a year, you may be willing to make contingencies, such as having your kids or other travelling companions share a room, using fewer bathrooms, or settling for a simpler layout.

If you’re only looking for a vacation stay, we offer a Co-Ownership Program for our townhouses that is ideal for those with a smaller investment budget. This program grants you access to five townhomes to use for a minimum of 4 weeks per year, as a legal, titled owner. The more money you invest, the more weeks per year you’re allowed to come and stay!
