However, if you plan on spending more time in the DR, obtaining your legal residency status is best. To do so, there are some essential documents you will need to provide to the DR’s government to prove that you can sustain yourself, are in good health, and do not have a criminal record. These documents include the following:

  • Bank statements for the last three months.
  • Two frontal photos
  • Lab Test and a letter from your doctor
  • Birth certificate 
  • Certificate of good conduct from the police 
  • Copy of your valid passport
  • Specific documentation related to your visa category (work, retirement, investment, married to a Dominican or a resident)
